Take Turns is a fun and effective tool that teaches patience and thinking ahead of speaking. It works exceptionally well in conversations with over-engaged participants. Even the most impatient debaters quickly learn not to interrupt while somebody else's clock is ticking.
Works well for timing kids during games as well. "Thumbs up" points can be given to winners or people who followed rules. "Thumbs down" can be given when rules are broken.
