FileCaddy is a new open source file management application designed for VFS capable handhelds running PalmOS.
That includes Clie's, the Palm i705, m130, m125, and m5XX series, and HandEra devices.
FileCaddy is also compatible with all Visors (including older OS 3.1 Visors) equipped with a FlashAdapter compatible or MemPlug Springboard module as well as the new Treo 90.
FileCaddy is being distributed under the GNU Public License (GPL) which means that not only is FileCaddy free to download and use, but the source code is also available for developers and hobbyists.
All of the FileCaddy resources (including the program, source code, documentation, discussion forums and mailing lists) can be found at the FileCaddy website. Please see documentation in download file for more information.
Like FAFileMover before it, FileCaddy is designed to be small, fast, and efficient.
While some PalmOS file manager applications weigh in at nearly 200KB, the current release of FileCaddy needs less than 30KB!
FileCaddy launches fast, scans directories fast, sorts file lists fast, and moves and copies files as fast as the PalmOS will let it.
FileCaddy is also highly configurable - allowing you to control features like file icons and sorting.
Additional features like "type down" navigation in the file list and a simple interface where most common operations are a single button on the main screen help you spend less time managing your files and more time actually using them.
Filecaddy will eventually have plugin support (it is quite experimental right now) with a very powerful API.
This would allow developers to create file handlers (plugins that react to files), or plugins that give you more volumes.
For example, a plugin that views and modifies MP3 ID3 tags, or a plugin that allows you to connect to a FTP server.
Though FileCaddy is derived from Kopsis' FAFileMover application and Kopsis is providing project management, FileCaddy is not a Kopsis product and is not supported by Kopsis, Inc.
Support for FileCaddy is provided by the FileCaddy development team via the FileCaddy website.
Please see documentation in download file for more information.

Palm OS 3.x, Palm OS 4.x, Palm OS 5.x
Other Software by developer «Kopsis, Inc.»:
Drifter Drifter - The system clocks on most computer systems are not very accurate. In fact, it is not unusual for the clock to 'drift' several seconds each day. Over the course of weeks or months this error can add up resulting in a clock that is several minutes fast or slow
VFSMark VFSMark - VFS provides a standard way for PalmOS applications to access an expansion card.
VFS is found on most devices running PalmOS 4.x. It can also be found on Sony Clie's running PalmOS v3.5, HandEra (formerly TRG) devices, and Handspring Visors using FlashAdapter compatible Springboard modules
