Aemula for Android - Aemula is an i486 PC emulator for Android tablets. The software comes with a bootable disk of FreeDOS (a DOS-compatible operating system) that allows you to run classic DOS games and programs. If you own a copy of MS-DOS 6.22 or Windows 3.1 you can also install them on the virtual PC.
Aemula emulates a full computer, with floppy disk drive, hard disk, CD-ROM, 8-bit Sound Blaster 2.0 audio card and VGA / SVGA Cirrus5430 display. In addition, it supports several control methods, including serial mouse, keyboard, joystick and gamepad.
Aemula was built with performance in mind, its maximum speed being comparable to that of a 66MHz 80486DX PC. In order to achieve this, the CPU core was coded in assembler and the app was designed to support multithreading so it can take advantage of the dual core architecture. The speed can be adjusted to emulate different classes of CPUs.
