Homebrew developer titch.ryan has released Battle Monsters, a card game in the manner of Yu-Gi-Oh. Titch.ryan is also the developer who released the Balloon Pop Challenge game a few months ago.
Battle Monsters offers its own deck of monster cards but you can create a deck of your own, with its own images and statistics. You can even customize your background music to play as you duke it out with your PSP. Here are the developer's notes (which can also be found in the readme file, which users are encouraged to browse through):
The aim of the game is to defeat the computer by destroying all of his/her cards. Both players start with
a deck of 20 cards selected randomly from the card library. On your turn you choose a card from your hand to play, you then choose its stance (attack or defense). The Computer will then choose a card from its hand and they will BATTLE! Depending on your stance the card with the highest points will win and stay on the gameboard. The loser will choose another card from his/her hand to play against the card left on the gameboard. The winner is the player who does not lose all his/her cards.
Controls:
D-pad to navigate
X to select
/ to view gameboard (On your turn)
Installation:
Copy BattleMonsters folder to Game150 (its that simple!)
The game allows custom card decks, also Customizable background and music.
How to create custom deck:
1. Create/Obtain 79 cards (format .png 96x141 pixels)
2. Create a .txt file for every card with attack points on top line and defense points on second
3. Name cards and text files 1-79 respectively
4. Place cards and text files into card folder and overwrite old deck.
5. If you want a custom background or music replace images/background.png with your own 480x272 png image or replace sfx/music.mod with your own .mod file
To-do:
