Rainbow Sprite Wars version rsw_03031333 Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the DS pretty much showed us how fun frantic shooters can be when played with a stylus, and left us hankering for more games of the same ilk. It's a good thing that homebrew developer Theoxylo managed to come up with a Rainbow Sprite Wars, an insanely colorful 2D sprite shooter homebrewed for the Nintendo DS.
If you've played Geometry Wars, then you're already familiar with Rainbow Sprite Wars' gameplay. It's still in it's early stage, but the game is already playable. Here's the controls list for your quick reference:
Drag to move
Tap to shoot
L to reset game after player collision (lose)
Start to pause
Y to show score and debug console
R to swap screens
Sounds simple enough for just anyone to pick up and play the game, yes? Theoxylo will also make some improvements in the AI to make Rainbow Sprite Wars more interesting in later updates. Until then, enjoy this current version of the game!
