Rockbot 1.00: A Worthy Mega Man Clone For PSP, Windows, And Android

The Rockbot team is back with a much improved non-beta version of their Mega Man clone. Check out the PSP PC, and Android builds here!

The Rockbot homebrew game has been around for a while now, but it's our pleasure to announce that the very first stable release is finally here. This is an experience crafted for Mega Man fans by Mega Man fans, so it borrows many essential gameplay mechanics from the the classic Capcom franchise. That means you'll be shooting, running, jumping, and absorbing powers to your heart's content. As far as changes are concerned, this build mostly fixes bugs found in the previous beta. Check out the exhaustive list below!

Version 1.0.0 Changes

Fixed cumulative memory usage due to not releasing memory NPC and Object lists when finishing stage
Fixed memory leaks in projectile, map and stage objects
Reduced package sizes for some platforms
Do not show empty-text dialogs
Several small graphics positioning fixes
Add "breath" bubble when player is underwater
Add several people who helped in the credits
The credits on intro screen now show the same credits from the ending, avoiding duplication
Android port now correctly upgrades data when installing a new version over an older one
Android back key now is equivalent to "ESC"
Add elegant "leave" message and confirmation dialog. Update code to not use exit() unless critical.
Do not show dash/shield buttons on Android's on-screen touch controls
Fix player sliding out of screen
Fix 3rd-level tiles not showing when doing the boss door animation
Windows now have an installer
Pandora build and package
Several fixes in NPC Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Remove unused code
Windows and Linux now save data to user home directory, allowing multiple users to have their own saves in same computer
Faster screen transitions
Fix platforms not returning after used, even if player dies
Improve stairs leaving and grabbing and making impossible for player to grab it once hit while on stairs
Reviewed stages and re-balanced difficulty
Fix freeze weapon not working or stopping whole NPCs after leaving stage
NPC jump includes collision detection
Added icon and background for PSP port
Teleport animation for Coil/Jet items. Do not allow to use it inside a wall.
Several fixes for game freezing and other issues that avoided one to finish the game
Avoid using SDL_SetColors as much as possible, as this is the most time-expensive method used
Several other fixes

Deal or No Deal (CFW 3.xx) Those who've been with QJ.NET for quite some time now might remember the old homebrew game released by coder AdePSP called Deal or No Deal. Needless to explain, this is a port of the game show that became a phenomenon around the world. The last version of that specific game was only compatible for PSP firmwares 2.0, 2.01, 2.5, and 2

B-Gen Demo From the folks who brought you Frankie's Quest, homebrew coders Okapako and CrystalSwordsman is back on the scene to release an early demo of their upcoming project, B-Gen. Super Mario Smash KartSuper Mario Smash Kart
Super Mario Smash Kart Homebrew developer Zion dropped by QJ.Net Forums and released a very exciting homebrew port of video game title Mario Kart 64. This really is exciting because we all know that a lot of the older gamers loved this game. As a matter of fact, total sales for Mario Kart 64 reached one million just after one week of being on the market
PSPokemonPSPokemon
PSPokemon  WHO'S THAT POKEMON?! The Lua game that tugged at everyone's heart strings even as early its Alpha release has now poke-evolved into its next version: PSPokemon Beta. Yep, that's right: Beta. Still not a final full version that developer sony_psp_player has in mind, however, while it's in Beta, it's still quite a catch as things go
MinerPSPMinerPSP
MinerPSP  Jsharrad from our forums has released v1.0 of his homebrew game for the PSP, MinerPSP. MinerPSP is based on the game Miner VGA released into the public domain by Harrel W. Stiles in 1989. Chase that cheese 0.1  PSP homebrew developer, ediablov passed by our forums recently to tell us about this homebrew game that he created called Chase that cheese v0.1. This is his first release, so you play nice, ok? Anyhow, he mentions that this is sort of based on a flash game and the game is pretty simple to play
Bomberman ArenaBomberman Arena
Bomberman Arena ShUr1k3n has released an updated version of his Bomberman Arena homebrew game for the PSP coded entierely in C. The last time we heard from this game was back in June, when we heard that ShUr1K3n was working on Ad-Hoc support that he couldn't quite get the hang of. Now you'll be pleased to hear that he has come back and version 1
SnowKillzSnowKillz
SnowKillz From Monkit: Basically it is something like a top-down shooter. It was previously one of my super old childish games on PC My old SnowKillz on PC But I ported it to PSP thinking that it would be fun Anyway.. the Loading is very slow.. have to bear with it. >.< The graphics and sound I would change later. Most graphics are from RPGmaker
ParKingParKing
ParKing - Parallel parking definitely isn't as fun and easy as non-drivers may perceive. However, this homebrew game here from taeKy, ParKing v1.3, does provide for the fun. If this is the first time you've come across this, it's a pretty simple game. All you have to do is park your car as fast as you can
Super Mario WarSuper Mario War
Super Mario War I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm a big Super Mario fan. And if I'm just as talented as Michael Schaffer and Florian Hufsky, who created and occasionally updates the Mario deathmatch game Super Mario War, then I'll make my own Nintendo tribute
