Penny Arcade Viewer for PSP (Lua)
=================================
1. Instructions
a) Have a proper infrastructure network connection set up and
working. The application uses the first connection (just like
the Lua WiFi example it's based on). In the event that you have
connection issues, note that I've heard that setting the power
save settings for WLAN to off can increase the speed/reliability
of connections (for homebrew), but I am unsure as to the truth of
this.
b) Create the folder "PSPPHOTOPenny Arcade" on an inserted
memory card. This folder is needed for one required cache file
(the last comic viewed) as well as any other comics you've
decided to save (which can then be viewed offline from the PSP
photo viewing software).
c) If you are a fan of Penny Arcade, this viewer, or just being
a decent human-being, consider donating to Penny Arcade's (of
which I have no affiliation) Child's Play charity drive at
http://www.childsplaycharity.org
2. Controls
square - change viewing mode
l trigger - previous comic
r trigger - next comic
start - hop back to the very first Penny Arcade comic avail.
circle - save currently displayed comic (image) to memory card
for offline viewing from the PSP photo viewer (note that
there will always be at least one image in the
"PSPPHOTOPenny Arcade" folder as caching the latest
comic viewed is required)
WHEN IN THE SECOND VIEWING MODE ONLY (original/unscaled):
analog stick - move selection box (fast/low-precision)
d-pad - move selection box (slow/high-precision)
x - update viewing area to the area designated by the
selection box
3. Known Issues/Thoughts
Sometimes the application will lock up when trying to connect
to the network to download the latest comic (this appears to be
a Lua issue). After this is fixed, I'll release an update. Note
that once you have downloaded the latest comic (have a successful
connection with the router/etc. going) you should be able to read
as many prior comics as you want without issue.
I would have liked to have had a viewing mode in which the PSP is
meant to be oriented sideways, but that, as well as a few other
viewing modes I was experimenting with, turned out to be more
work than they were worth.
Thanks/shouts to Skylark, Niacin, Shine, Nevyn, and Lumo. Thanks to
Gabe and Tycho at Penny Arcade for providing the great content.

Cliffhangers. Gotta hate 'em, gotta love 'em. Just when you think the story's done, the plot concluded, the author pulls the wool over our eyes with a dreaded "to be continued" sign. But then, that's what makes it enticing. It's knowing that it's not over, that the story's got more in store, that the chase is on
