Coud it be uttered that the videogaming industry's foundation is built on Mario? Yes, Mario as in the Nintendo plumber? Well, that one is a little bit contentious and we'll save that discusson for some other day. But for now, we guess we can all agree that Mario is one of the most loved and resilient character the world has ever seen.
Not only is he being resurrected in various next-gen titles but even the homebrew community can't get enough of him. Take this one Lua game for example: SMBPSPlatformer v0.02 was created by Zora 182. According to the coder, he's been working on this for a while now as he is just beginning to master the program Lua.
Anyway, judging from what we've seen, we could say that he's off a great start. To those of you who want to give this a try, the story of SMBPSPlatformer is quite the usual. One day, Mario took his motor bike and is on his way to visit Princess Peach. On his way though, he learned that the princess has been captured yet again by Bowser. He also learned that the villain has come up with a new machine that zapped all his favorite level-ups.
Sounds interesting? Why not give it a try now. Also, some feedback and comments will always be appreciated by any homebrew developer. Enjoy!
