Homebrew developer Royale just released a new build for the PSP-Maps application, bumping it up to version 0.5. This progra, is actually a map reader for the Sony handheld that was patterned after Google Maps.
Despite that similarity, this homebrew release does not use the API from Google Maps. Aside from the obvious simpler user-interface, Royale also mentioned that his program retrieves the images directly. Here are the changes for this specific build:
* Added Virtual Earth and Yahoo! Maps support (thanks to boomerang for the idea)
* Address search menu
* Customizable cache size
* Added an option to load neighborhood to cache
* Switched to TTF font
* Fixed a bug with favorites
* New buttons mapping
The download package below for PSP-Maps v0.5 comes with several documentation that should help you get started with this program. Be sure to read those first to maximize the potential of this great application.
