About two weeks ago, PSP homebrew developer mat_dizzy announced a teaser for an upcoming project, named PSP Earth. For the guys who haven't heard about it yet, this application promised to allow PSP owners access to webcams worldwide via the PSP's wireless internet capability (Wi-Fi).
In case you're wondering how the project's been progressing so far, the developer has just announced the Beta release of PSP Earth. The bad news is that this isn't a full release - version 0.2 is just a demonstration of how the app's engine works, and a teaser of things to come.
For the moment, PSP Earth only has three webcam streams, and is coded in HTML, Flash, Java, and Visual Basic - mat_dizzy plans to code it into LUA (with accompanying EBOOT) format in the near future. Before anything else, make sure to check out the file README for usage instructions. Guys interested in trying PSP Earth B will want to have these following items ready (quoting the readme):
* A Playstation Portable
* Firmware 2.00 - 3.50 + 3.03oea - 3.40oe. Basically any firmware with internet capabilities - note the flash sections will not be played on any firmware below 2.71
* A wireless internet router
* Preferably A memory stick duo (if not host them on your own server as we do not provide it like that)
* A fast internet connection to have a stable refresh rate, I'd say 1mbps+ will be fine
