Here's a nice little hack for all of the people who somehow got Wiimotes for Christmas but no Wii console. A guy by the name of Walter Schreppers has managed to hack his Wiimote and turn it into a remote for his XMMS mp3 player. Check out the video up top to see it in action.
Controls:
Up: previous song in playlist
Down: next song in playlist
Left: reverse song
Right: forward song
A: Toggle Shuffle
B: Toggle play/pause
1: Left mouse button -> yes pointing also works if you make a sensor bar with some plain IR-leds
2: Right mouse button
Home: exit xmms-wii application
And the best part: shake the remote!
Shake a little bit and it skips to next song. Shake it a lot and it skips more songs at a time.
Remember guys, this is for Linux. To get it working in Ubuntu Linux, you'll also need to download the WMD driver, which is also available on dl.QJ.net.

Geckoreader Geckoreader
GeckoReader is a program to be run under Windows that will open a command prompt and output what it reads from a USB gecko. You must have the USB gecko installed, set up the COM drivers, and have .NET 2.0 for this to work properly. Then whatever buffer is sent from the Wii/Gamecube should pop up on the screen
