  WiinRemote

There's a new version of WiinRemote out, and the minor addition for it as actually something we were waiting for since we first heard about this nifty application. There's now an assignment for double-clicking!

In addition to the double-click assignment, the changlog says this version has "use motion when lost IR added" as a feature. We think it means there's a new addition to the program that lets you wave the Wiimote around to receive the IR signal in the event that you lose it, so that should be handy for those false starts.

Other than that, hackers will be glad to note that it's still pretty much the same app you've been tinkering with alongside the DarwiinRemote. Have fun!

Wiimote-XMMS control  Here's a nice little hack for all of the people who somehow got Wiimotes for Christmas but no Wii console. A guy by the name of Walter Schreppers has managed to hack his Wiimote and turn it into a remote for his XMMS mp3 player. Check out the video up top to see it in action

WiinRemote WiinRemote is back with a recently released Christmas Day upgrade, giving the Wiimote more functionality in its quest to control Windows. This new version, WiinRemote v2006.12.25, changes the font for the non-Japanese version, and adds some key assignments for some more actions
GeckoreaderGeckoreader
Geckoreader GeckoReader is a program to be run under Windows that will open a command prompt and output what it reads from a USB gecko. You must have the USB gecko installed, set up the COM drivers, and have .NET 2.0 for this to work properly. Then whatever buffer is sent from the Wii/Gamecube should pop up on the screen
