Copan for the Pocket PC - is a very functional and easy-to-use geomatics engineering tool for computing and managing plane surveying and mapping coordinates. It does numerous coordinate geometry (COGO) calculations, processes and adjusts raw field survey data, computes and adjusts map traverse data, performs map or deed checks, calculates curves, areas and perimeters, performs coordinate transformations, imports/exports Ascii files, and has GPS positioning and navigation functions. It supports quadrant and whole-circle bearings, and gons (grads) as well as degrees-minutes-seconds. Also, its coordinate files may be may be accessed by Underhill's version of Pocket Free42, an HP-42S simulator program, or copied to the Pocket PC's memory card or to a removable memory card and used directly by the Windows version of Copan. Designed for land surveyors, geodetic engineers, professionals and students, Copan is available for download, completely free of charge.
