Huarong Road, considered as one of the three incredible games of the world, is very interesting and has various ways of playing.
Huarong Road is a famous Chinese puzzle, similar to but also different from the popular sliding puzzles. It is named after the Huarong Way, where Cao Cao fled through after his defeat during the Battle of Red Cliffs.
Highlights
In ancient China, as in other places, both board games and movement games probably come from war training. Board games trained generals in battlefield strategy, and martial arts trained men to fight.
Among the China's ancient mathematical toys, the HuaRong Road Puzzle, the Nine Puzzle Ring and the Tangram are considered as the three incredibles among other world-class specimens of mathematical and physics-based puzzle games.
How to play
There are 10 characters represented with 10 pieces in the game, they are king Cao Cao, general Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong, as well as four soldiers.
You can see the exit at the bottom of the chessboard, move Cao Cao out of HuaRong Road, using steps as few as possible.
Like in sliding puzzles, depending on the skill of the player, this game can be solved in varied number of moves, but preferably in as few moves as possible.
The pieces can not jump, nor can they change direction of a same shape (like in tetris).

Origin
The game is originated from the famous story during the Three Kingdoms. Caocao was defeated by Liubei and Sunquan in the Red Cliff War.
When he escaped to HuaRong Road, he encounter the army of Liubei. In order to return the favor given by Caocao, Guanyu was seemingly attacking but actually helping Caocao to get out of HuaRong Road. The game, HuaRong Road, therefore was created.
Where is HuaRong Road
Huarong is actually a small town. Dao, in Chinese means "Road". HuaRong Road is a straight road behind the city, which was very convenient for Caocao to escape. Also there was a hut near Huarong, where the army could get some food on their way escaping.
