Memory Verses for HanDBase - This handy little database offers 26 weeks of Bible memory verses, one verse for each week. Each verse has a suggested theme as well. The weeks are numbered 1-26. A date field is included if you want to record the date you start your weekly memorization.
The first thirteen verses come from NavPress' "Growing in Christ." The rest are simply favorites of mine. You can substitute your own verses, of course. To memorize effectively, I would suggest reciting the reference, the text, and then repeating the reference several times over at one sitting. Try to do that at least twice a day for the week. There is a check box to indicate that you have completed each week's memorization. But to reinforce and help make sure you have planted the verses in long term memory, I suggest you continue to recite the verse for three additional weeks. There are check boxes to chart your progress. There is also a check box for a two-month recitation to see if you've still got it. If you can recite a verse for 4 weeks, then remember it a month later, you've probably got it for life. All verses are from the NASB. "Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Ps. 119:11
