NutriCalc for HanDBase - NutriCalc is a clinical tool for estimating daily energy and protein requirements for hospitalized patients, and is intended as a guide to providing nutritional support. Daily caloric needs are based upon basal energy expenditure (BEE) as calculated using the Harris-Benedict equation. Enter a patient's height, weight, age, gender and select a physical stress level from a pop-up menu. NutriCalc then provides the estimated daily kCal and protein needs. Data can be stored by patient name and date if desired.
