PocketBioRhythms is a simple Today module designed for PocketPC 2002 handheld devices. It displays the user's biorhythms for the current date in text and for a whole month (15 days before and 15 days after today) in a graph.
What is a BioRhythm? Well, the same way the tides are affected by the moon, different aspects of our life are affected by other things in a cyclic manner. There are quite a few different biorhythms, but PocketBioRhythms only includes 4 of the more interesting ones:
- Physical: Your health and fitness
- Emotional: Your ability to cope with emotions
- Intellectual: Your thinking and deductive prowess
- Intuitional: Your ability to sense things by using just your insticts
Biorhythms oscillate at different frequencies from the day you are born. Thus, the first thing you should do upon installing PockeBioRhythms on your PocketPC is to set your birth date on the Settings screen. The values for each biorhythm vary from 100% (full strength), to -100% (the weakest strength). So, if one of your biorhythms is at 0%, it does not mean that you have no chance with that particular one, but simply that you are at a neutral point in the cycle.
I personally don't attribute much importance to biorhythms, but some people do. Sometimes it's interesting to see how your curves are doing when something happens. For example, if you catch a cold, check your Physical biorhythm, you might be surprised of what you see!
Anyway, PocketBiorhythms was written as a programming exercise, so I don't expect anyone to use it, and I definitely don't want anyone blaming me for planning things based on their bioryhtms. I have friends who plan meetings or sporting events based on their biorhythms, but I wouldn't go as far as advising that!
PocketBioRhythms is totally free. This means that no one is allowed to charge anything for it! Also, I'd appreciate it if you let me know if you use it, or distribute it.
