Checklists is free to registered owners of Birder to create logs of birds that they have seen. It comes with a large number of databases of bird names from all over the world. All you have to do is click on the alphabetic keypad to display all bird names that start with the letter that you clicked. Once you have located the bird in the list, you can mark it as seen by clicking on it. This will put an asterisk (*) in front of the name. You can also un-mark it by clicking on it again.
If at any time you would like to have a list of all observed birds, then select export. This will generate a lifelist which can be exported to a Palm notepad. Once it is in a notepad you can edit it or transfer it to your PC via a Hotsync operation.
