Hitori is a game that reminds a little bit about Sudoku and the other Sudoku-like games originating from Japan, now you can enjoy it on your PocketPC anywhere and anytime.
The board is filled with numbers and in some rows and some columns there are duplicates of one or more numbers. The object of the game is to locate these duplicates and paint (or mark) them. This sounds really easy you might say, but there are more rules. Painted cells may never be adjacent to each other and all empty (non-painted) cells create a single continuous area, undivided by painted cells.
Still, it might sound really easy but we can assure you that it is a lot harder than it sounds, and it is very addictive.
The game is very easy to play. Choose which level you want to play when creating a new game from the ''Game''-menu, after some time the game will begin and your task is to paint the duplicate cells. To paint a cell, simply tap it once. If you change your mind, simply tap the cell once more to un-paint it. When you have painted cells so that all three rules (see below) are obeyed you will automatically be notified of your success and if you were fast enough you might even have earned a spot in the high score table.
The rules summarized:
1. Numbers may never appear more than once in each row or column
2. Painted cells are never adjacent in a row or a column
3. Empty cells (not painted) create a single continuous area, undivided by painted cells
Once you have painted cells on the board so that all three rules are obeyed you will have solved the puzzle.
