DioPen Silk Plug-In is a Silk Plug-In Software that enables the convenient and easy inputting of Korean and English characters, numbers, and symbols for Sony CLIE devices. Data (Korean and English characters, numbers, and symbols) can be entered using either the soft keyboard or the handwriting input on the Graffiti Writing Area of Sony CLIE devices. Users may select the method for entering data and changing the skin according to their preferences. In addition, an interface system that best fits the features of Sony CLIE devices is provided.
1. Select "DioPen Silk Plug-In" on the screen by tapping the Silk Plug-In button on the bottom of the screen.
2. The Graffiti Writing Area switches to the DioPen Silk Plug-In screen.
Each Korean character should be inputted by separating the consonant and vowel in the Unistroke Input Mode. When one consonant or vowel is recognized, the result is entered and displayed on the screen. On the other hand, symbols are entered through the General Handwriting Input Mode.
The General Handwriting Input Mode recognizes Korean text by character; therefore, general handwriting or cursive handwriting connecting the Korean consonant and vowel can be inputted. Unlike the Unistroke Input, the result is recognized and entered when there is no pen input after a few seconds. On the other hand, the result is recognized and inputted when another character is inputted in the next input box after one character has been entered; therefore, characters can be inputted more quickly by writing characters using two boxes alternately. Symbols are entered through the General Handwriting Input Mode.
The Continuous Handwriting Mode enables the input and recognition of several characters (i.e., a word) at a time. If there is no pen input after a few seconds, the result is recognized and entered. Korean and English numbers and symbols are distinguished depending on the starting point of the written text. In other words, if the inputted text starts from the Korean box, it is recognized as Korean; if the inputted text starts from the English box, it is recognized as English. On the other hand, if the inputted text starts from the number box, it is recognized as a number. Korean and English characters and numbers can be inputted in this mode. Symbols cannot be inputted continuously, however.
Users can set the desired images as keyboard skin or input window skin through the Skin Setup Screen by choosing "Skin." The image size should be 320*130 and saved to /PALM/Programs/DIOTEK/DioPen/Skin. Only saved images in this foler can be set as skin images.
