Multi-Dots - This game plays the same as a game I used to play as a child on paper. The game starts by letting each player choose a letter to play with. The board then initializes with a grid of dots. Each player takes turns making a horizontal or a vertical line between 2 dots by tapping between the dots. When a turn results in forming a square then that player's letter goes in the square, the player gets one point and another turn.
The game is over when all lines are drawn. The highest score wins. In case of a tie the win goes to the player who stared last. The bottom of the screen displays the players and their scores. The player who has the next turn has his letter and score enclosed in a rectangle.
The demo has no time limit and may be freely distributed. However, in the demo the preferences can not be changed and the game is limited to 2 players, 0 % prefill, a 6 X 5 board and sound off.
The registered version can have from 2 to 4 players, various prefill percentage values, board sizes of 6 X 5, 7 X 6, 8 X 7, and 9 X 8. Also, the sound has a variable volume control.
The % prefill option will initialize the board with a certain amount of random lines. The beginning of the game is somewhat tedious because it takes a while before there are enough lines drawn before it becomes difficult to find a place to play such that you do not give the next player a chance to score. The prefill will never put more than 2 lines to a square. A 100% prefill would be fully prefilled giving the second player a chance to score. So the highest percentage prefill will do is 98%.
When the sound is on there is a low frequency tone every time a line is drawn. There is a higher frequency tone every time a point is scored. And when the game is over the beginning of Fur Elise is played.
This game does not allow you to play against the computer. What it is designed for are those times when you are traveling with a child or children and you want a game that every one can play together.
