Passwd - Stores credit card numbers, pin codes, passwords and other critical data using 128-bit XTEA encryption. This application also generates passwords on request. The passwords are stored in encrypted form together with a detailed description. The description may be searched using Palm's Find feature.
· Creates passwords. The password can be up to 64 characters long.
· Allows the user to save the password together with a large description. The password and associated description are stored in a database. The password is stored in encrypted form using 128-bit XTEA encryption. The description is saved as-is with no encryption.
· The description can be searched using the "Find" feature in Palm.
· If the user does not like the generated password, he/she may modify it at will. Alternately, the user can just make up their own password and store it using Passwd.
· Has extensive built-in help.
· The password field in Passwd can be used to store credit card numbers, and pin codes securely.
· The decrypted passwords and their associated descriptions can be viewed by unlocking the database. The database is unlocked using a "Master" password. The user needs to set this "Master" password upon installation of Passwd on the Palm. This "Master" password may be changed at will. However, if the user forgets this "Master" password there is no way to retrieve the data in the database. It will be lost forever.
· The database is automatically locked upon exit.
· The database is automatically backed up during HotSync.
