UDMH - Unlimited Dynamic Memory Hack - Unlimited dynamic memory hack finally achieves the holy grail of palm computing. All those emulators that require 4 MB of dynamic memory or the newest PalmOS device to run, annoying you? Well no more. With this the newest SNES emulator runs fine on a T|E and Zire 71. If you've ever had a problem with applications requiring more dynamic memory then you have, then this application is for you.
To install: HotSync the file to your Palm OS 5 device. The device will reset. Now find the UDMH application and run it. Il will install itself in the system
The unregistered version does not do this automatically after a reset, so you need to do this every time after a reset. The registered version activates itself after a reset, so you need not worry about it.
in order for this to work, you need enough free storage memory, and it needs to be defragmented, so if you see this hack failing, and you have plenty of free storage, try to backup to your expansion card, do a hard reset, and restore. This will in a way defragment your storage memory, allowing UDMH to work better.
If UDMH does not work for you, check that you have a lot of free storage memory, and try to defragment it as described above.
Your mileage will vary.
Please do not purchase if it does not work, there's specifically a trial version for you to see if it works or not.
The trial version will expire in 7 days after you install it, and you will have to purchase UDMH to continue its use.
WARNING: If a program does not free memory after it exits, you will notice a lot of your storage memory gone, do not worry, just do a soft reset, and your memory will be back.
I cannot emphasize this enough: BACKUP BEFORE TRYING THIS. HOTSYNC IS NOT A BACKUP!
What the program does is unsupported in many ways, and although every effort is made to make it safe, anything could happen.
This program has been reported to work well on the following devices:
CableSync Hack CableSync Hack is a very small hackmaster hack that allows the user to hotsync by holding down either the up or down key while the power is turned on.
It is intended for users that have a cable, rather than a cradle.
CableSync Hack would also be appropriate for users that have remapped their hotsync button, or have a broken hotsync button
FlipHack FlipHack is a HackMaster hack for PalmOS that lets you rotate your screen 90, 180, and 270 degrees (and continue using your device).
There is some slowdown, but it is usable.
Released under GPL.
Source code is available from my web site.
Hoshi Takanori has released a DA to activate FlipHack from any application (using a DA launcher). It's called FlipDA
UpDnHack UpDnHack - This is a simple hack which toggles between PgUp and PgDown hardware buttons.
I read a lot from my Palm Vx device and I found that plam's PgDown button is not convenient enough
TealMaster TealMaster - Replace Hackmaster with TealMaster, the supercharged 100%-compatible system extensions manager. TealMaster adds enhanced stability, configuration and diagnostic features and PalmOS 5.0 hack emulation.
With numerous unique features, TealMaster sets the new standard for managing system extension programs, commonly called "hacks
One Click Clipping One Click Clipping is a small enhancement to Palm Query Application technology. A normal Palm Query Application (PQA) requires some sort of user interaction before the clipping is served. This interaction can be as advanced as filling out a form to as simple as clicking one link. This last case is a click too much - One Click Clipping addresses this
Keyclick Hack Keyclick Hack - This hack will eliminate the click system sound, while still allowing beeps for dialogs and prompts.
Makes keyboard input far less noisy.
It now includes a Palmos 5 version, which requires a PalmOS 5 specific hack manager
LightHack LightHack - A neat feature of the Palm IIIx and Palm V: when the backlight is activated, the dark pixels light up instead of the background. LightHack provides a similar feature for the Palm III (and older Palm devices with backlights) -- whenever the backlight is activated, the screen is inverted so that the text lights up, and the background stays dark
Z-Digitizer Z-Digitizer - If you have a digitizer problem this program may help.
As I think you digitizer is not good enough to reach the application icon.
All you have to do are:
- Install this ZDigitize.prc in your Palm.
- Do the soft reset only.
- After the soft reset your Palm will let you celibate the Digitizer
SysNfo SysNfo - This will replace the standard system brightness dialog with a much more useful one. You will be able to control the brightness completely: ability to turn backlight off, or set it lower than the system usually allows (good for Zire71, as its lowest possible system-set brightness is too bright for night use)
IconFX IconFX will alow you to edit high-resolution icons on your OS5.2.1 or higher device. It can edit the large and small icons, as well as editing the icons in overlays, if present. It has been tested on Palm Zire 71, and palm Tungsten|T3, and works with other OS5.2.1 or higher devices, and sony OS5 or higher devices. May also work on earlier OS5 builds
