On the Pool table there are object balls in a classic triangle. T
is performed with a force that could be regulated from the bottom center of the table. When three or more balls of the same color (including the cue ball) are connected together, they are removed from the table. The task of the player is to remove all the balls from the table in order to go to the next level. The position of balls on the virtual net of the table is fixed, that is why even if the player did not use the necessary force of the shot the balls do not go to the sides of the table as in ordinary Pool. Anyway, if the shot is not successful, the additional balls appear on the table.
The algorithm of placing the balls was developed following John Conway''s Game of Life; modifications in it are connected with the peculiarities of hexagonal net and addition of an element of chance. As the result the game has strikingly beautiful color combinations that dynamically change from shot to shot.
The game is over if one or more balls touched the lower edge of the table.
Snooker has unlimited number of levels that constantly become more and more complicated. The score is rising in progression from level to level; it encourages the gamer to play on the higher (more complicated) levels.
The islets of balls that constantly appear on the table require accuracy in calculation of shot trajectory, while a miss when the cue ball touches the lower edge of the table and the balls on the table get mixed up demands enough composure.
As in classic pool game of Snooker, the player can think over the next move unlimited time, but, following the above-mentioned, it?s better not to miss. The game has four levels of difficulty that allows different players to adjust the game to their liking. Bubble Snooker is developed in 2D+ style with alpha-channel, dynamically calculated light and shadows. The particle engine was employed in the form of exploding bubbles in order to reinforce the effect of balls removal from the table. The game is controlled both by mouse (stylus) or from the keyboard.
The game is developed for Windows, Mac, Pocket PC, Palm OS, Symbian (series 60). The interface elements are unified for all the above-mentioned platforms. This allows even the beginner to catch the rules and settings of the game very quickly.
