Diet and Exercise Planner is a Pocket PC software designed to help you keep track of your daily food intake and exercise. The Planner software is simple and easy to use: one button allows to enter food you ate, another button lets you enter the exercise. The Planner uses your weight to calculate amount of calories burned by exercise. The front screen indicates the calorie balance (including fat, carbohydrate, and protein balance), burned calorie balance, total balance and corresponding weight loss. FREE BMR calculator in the trial version.

Features

  • The intuitive interface
  • Fastest possible food and exercise entry via a cascading menu.
  • Set and measure your long-term goals – set your weight loss and see how much exercise you need to perform to achieve this goal.
  • Indicate the exercise type and duration and the software automatically calculates the calories you burn by exercise.
  • The software calculates your basal metabolic rate (BMR) using the Harris-Benedict formula.
  • Supports English and Metric measurement units. To switch between pounds and kilograms click File>Setup Personal Information...>Select Units
  • Add your own food: click File>Add Your Own Food...
  • Daily calorie balance and equivalent weight lost are calculated automatically
  • The graph function allows you to analyze your progress over time. Graph such parameters as calorie, fat, carbohydrates, and protein intake, exercise time, and calories burn by exercise.
  • Exercise calendar provides a quick way to view your exercise type and duration on a calendar screen.
  • You can save all data into a text or CSV file (comma delimited text file). You can then open CSV file in Excel and create your own graphs.

How Diet and Exercise Planner Works

  1. Setup your personal information by tapping File>Setup Personal Information…. This information is used to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). The BMR is the rate at which your body burns calories in the absence of exercise. If you were to lie in bed all day, you would burn whatever your BMR is. Your BMR depends on genetics, muscle mass, and a number of other factors. The software uses Harris-Benedict equation to calculate your BMR.
  2. Setup your goals by tapping File>Set Your Goals…. This information will help the Diet and Exercise Planner to guide you toward your diet and weight goal.

Daily Food and Exercise Entry

  1. Enter the food you eat by tapping Eat>Food Group>Food Item. If you want to add a food item that is not on the list, just add a similar item or tap File>Add My Own Food. To repeat "My Food" entry at any time, tap View> Food Entries History. Tap the entry you want to repeat. Tap the Repeat Entry button.
  2. Enter you exercise by tapping Burn>Exercise Type>Exercise Time. If you want to add an exercise that is not on the list, just add a similar item or tap File>Add My Own Exercise. To repeat"My Own Exercise" entry at any time, tap View> Exercise Entries History. Tap the entry you want to repeat. Tap the Repeat Entry button.
  3. You may want to adjust you weight on the daily basis. This will improve BMR calculations.

Data Viewing

The Diet and Exercise Planner allows you to view data in 4 principal ways:

  1. The front panel shows Today food and exercise balance. This view lets you easily adjust your food intake and exercise to satisfy your diet and weight goals. You can also view 7, 14, and 30 day food and exercise balance. To view 7 days balance, tap View> 7 Days Balance
  2. The Graph function allows you to analyze your progress over time. Graph such parameters as weight, calorie, fat, carbohydrates, and protein intake, exercise time, and calorie burn by exercise. To use the graph function tap View>Graph Parameter.
  3. The Exercise Calendar provides a quick way to view your exercise type and duration on a calendar screen. Tap View>Exercise Calendar to access this view.
  4. To view all food entries, tap View>Food Intake History. Each entry shows calories, fat, carbohydrates, and protein content, date and time of the entry. To delete any individual record, tap on the record, and tap the Delete button. To repeat any individual record, tap on the record and tap the 'Repeat Entry' button. To view all exercise entries, tap View>Exercise History. Each entry shows type and duration of exercise, and date and time of the entry.

Note: the trial version is limited to 10 data entries.
