CESlideShow Dashboard Module - provides a slideshow of your images on your SnoopSoft Dashboard screen. It will display all the .jpg, .bmp, and .gif files within a user defined directory with a programmable interval between pictures. The images can be displayed within the module window of Dashboard or 'Full Screen', while still showing the System Navigation and Menu bars. CESlideShow requires a registered version of Dashboard by SnoopSoft, which can be found at http://www.snoopsoft.com/dashboard/index.html.
This is the way pictures are displayed in Normal mode on the standard Dashboard skin. Pressing the Next Page icon causes the next picture to be displayed. Clicking on the Full Screen icon switches to the Full Screen mode.
This is the way pictures are displayed in Full Screen mode on any Dashboard skin. Clicking anywhere on the image returns the display to Normal mode.
CESlideShow has the following option settings:
Image Folder
This defines the place that CESlideShow will look for image files. It will display any .jpg, .bmp, and .gif files that it finds in this folder. To change it, click the button and a folder selection dialog will come up. Select the desired folder and click OK. You can also add, delete, and rename folders in this dialog. Folders must be within a 'My Documents' folder either in Main Memory or a Storage Card, and cannot be nested.
Slide Interval
This setting determines the time CESlideShow will wait before switching to the next image in the folder. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the number of (H)ours, (M)inutes, and (S)econds. Dashboard has a minimum timer value of 2-3 seconds, so the actual time between slides can vary by this amount. In addition, if the images are very large, it may take a while for CESlideShow to read them in and resize them for the display.
Background
This setting defines a color used to fill in any space that is left around the picture as it is sized to fit in the window. 'None' will allow whatever is in the background to show through. In FullSize mode (described below), the borders will be black if 'None' is selected.
Filename
This setting defines the color of the text of the filename, which will be overlayed on the image. Select T to have the name at the top of the image, and B for the bottom. If you do not want the filename on the image, select 'None' for the color.
Border Space
These settings allow fine tuning of the placement of the image within the window. For most Dashboard skins, the defaults of 0 should be fine, but some skins may require reducing the size of the image and these settings allow you to do that.
Stretch to Fit
This option will stretch the image to fit the window available. If it is not selected, then the image's original aspect ratio is maintained as it is resized to fit the window.
Images look best when they are shown in their original aspect ratio. Proper sizing of stored images can make them look much better when displayed. CESlideShow will show the size of the window available in the skin that you are using when it is loading the first image file. To keep the information on the screen longer, temporarily set the Image Folder to a folder that has no image files. When you have noted the size, set the Image Folder back. The available window size varies based on the Dashboard skins that you use. In FullScreen mode, the images are always displayed in a 268x240 window.
CESlideShow is shareware, and has a fully functional demo mode.
