The annoying dog is back, courtesy of homebrew developer Knight0fDragon and Duck Hunt Wii. So what's new with the homebrewed clone of Duck Hunt? Ever since its debut earlier this month, Knight0fDragon managed to add the following features and made sure that the game is a faithful port of the Famicom original:
* Working Title Screen
* Ability to choose one duck or two
* Wiimote and GC pad Support
* Different kinds of ducks
* Dog intro
* Dog laughing/ catching of the duck
* Simulation of the light gun from back in the NES days
* many other features from duckhunt.
Of course, a homebrewed game isn't without its own share of bugs. Knight0fDragon is onto it, of course, and lists down the known issues in Duck Hunt Wii. Here's the short list so you'll know what to look out for:
* Ducks start at a random location with random size
* Dog walks a little funny
* No sound
* No round counting
Installing the game is pretty simple, especially if you're already using the Homebrew channel (just file it in the apps directory), or just load the DOL file using your favorite Wii homebrew loader (make sure it's updated). There's no readme file included in the 'brew, but if you have any questions you can always drop by the Via link for more info.
