21 Questions Wrong - You will be asked 21 Questions. All you have to do is give the WRONG answers. Give 21 consecutive WRONG answers before the time runs out and you win. However each time you fail to give the WRONG answer you have to start from the first question.
The smarter you are the more stupid you become:
Philosophers, Economists and Social Scientists had assumed for centuries that human beings are rational agents. The ones that analyze a particular problem with all the associated variables and then give a rationally correct answer. However Daniel Kahneman a Nobel Laureate, in his disarmingly simple experiments has profoundly changed the way we think about thinking.
When people face an uncertain situation, they don’t carefully evaluate the information or look up relevant statistics. Instead, their decisions depend on a long list of mental shortcuts, which often lead them to make foolish decisions.
We have conditioned ourselves to give fixed answers to repetitive everyday common knowledge questions. By answering questions in schools, colleges, everyday life, TV Shows, Quizzes etc. And it’s become so strong over the years that simple instructions like “Give the wrong answer instead of right one” Has become difficult for us to follow. For example take “2 + 3 =“When you were a kid, you would count your fingers and the give answer as 5, that is you would solve the problem. But over the years your brain, Instead of solving this problem just remembers the answer and spits it out ... 5. Hence the more you learn the more these shortcuts are formed and reinforced.
These shortcuts aren’t a faster way of doing the math; they’re a way of skipping the math altogether. Asked about the 2's and 3's, we forget our arithmetic lessons and instead default to the answer that requires the least mental effort.
Here’s another example: In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of the lake?
Your first response is probably to take a shortcut, and to divide the final answer by half. That leads you to twenty-four days. But that’s wrong. The correct solution is forty-seven days.
This game gives you the firsthand experience of this phenomena. So remember that stingy frustrating feeling when you are playing this game and unable to get it WRONG. It’s your brain learning something new!
