BlueAmp allows you to control Winamp from your Windows Mobile phone via bluetooth. I figured I needed to write more about the application itself. The software is 2 parts, one that is for the mobile phone (Windows Mobile), and one for the PC.
The pc software sits and listens for commands from the mobile phone.
When it receives a command it applies it to winamp.
What does it support?
* change song, pause, play etc
* Volume updown
* View current track name
* start winamp if not running.
For the next version:
* "Get song (sends current song to phone automatically).
* Various bug fixes.
Future versions:
* Other media players by request
* Wlan
How did it all start?
I was just sick and tired of being on my bed, with the music on in my living room, and then had to either remote desktop into my main computer, or walk in there to change song or turn it off etc.
So I figured I could write a simple but useful software for my phone.
Why is it free?
Because i love free software. And I wanted to give something back.
Why Bluetooth?
Because it does not drain the battery like wlan does.
(But I am planning on supporting wlan too).
