Androlirc - This is a port of Lirc for the Android platform. It allows you to transform your Android device into an infrared remote control. It is a stripped down version that only supports audio output.
It was developed as a personal project, so this application is not supported by the official Lirc project. In order to use Androlirc, you will need some kind of "audio to IR" device.
Also, note that Androlirc is a proof of concept rather than a real application, it has been developed for one use case only:
· Select a configuration file (lircd.conf). This step might be a bit of a pain since the path has to be typed in... no file browsing yet.
· Parse an lircd.conf file
· Select a device
· Select an infrared command to be send
· Send the command via the audio device
What's New in This Release:
· Control Sets. Androlirc lets you configure highly customized remote controls, called "Control Sets".
· Layout selection. For each Control Set, you'll be able to choose the remote control aspect you want from a "wide" range of predefined layouts (2 for now).
· Keymap setting. One of the most interesting feature, it will let you customize each button exactly as you want it. The keymap settings also let you configure different devices on the same Control Set.
· Automatic keymap. Matching keys and command from your lircd.conf file using predefined keywords.
· Repeat function. Each key can be configured to keep sending the asigned signal while it is kept pressed down. Note that this is not the repeat feature included in the original LIRC project, this is just a simple buffer resend.
· Custom keys. Both default layouts come with 4 keys to be customized: c1, c2, c3 and c4. Like any other key, they can be assigned any command available in the LIRC configuration file. But additionally, the caption displayed on those keys can be modified to any word.
