IBE Keep Alive for Smart Phone 2005 - Welcome to IBE Keep Alive
Welcome to IBE Keep Alive! This Program's core function allows a user to override and disable the password timeout functionality built into WM5.0 Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP). Enjoy!
Smart Mode
This option allows Keep Alive to be enabled when AC Power is applied and disabled when running on just battery, without any user intervention. This is very useful with devices that have built in GPS chipsets as in the scenario where one utilizes a charge cable in a vehicle and wants to avoid the annoyance of having to enter a password in the middle of GPS navigation every <x> minutes because of device timeout. When AC Power is unplugged, Keep Alive will disable itself in the background. Selecting this mode will override the <Turn Keep Alive ON/OFF> option.
Usage: Check is enabled, unchecked is disabled.
Today page
This option allows a user to disable the password timeout function of Exchange 2003 SP2 & MSFP policy enforcement by passing your PIN password automatically without user intervention.
NOTE: Be careful with this option, as with this option checked, your device will be open and unlocked to whoever gains access. (Please refer to the <Today Schedule> feature for ways to secure when using this mode.)
Usage: Check is enabled, unchecked is disabled.
Auto Timer
This option allows the user to select timeouts on user specified applications when IBE Keep Alive is actively running. This feature must first be enabled in the lt;Advanced Settings> dialog by selecting the <Turn on Auto Timer> option. Once enabled (and once priorities are set in the <Settings> dialog) the user can set globally a timeout that will bring to the front the highest priority application (#1 is highest, then #2 and so on until the maximum of 9) that is currently running on the device.
NOTE: This mode will not work when Keep Alive is OFF or when in <Smart Mode> and no AC power is applied.
e.g. If a user has specified Windows Media as priority #1 and Pocket Streets as priority #2 and set their Auto Timer to a timeout value of 10 secs, (and both of these applications are currently loaded and running), when the user changes applications on the device, say, phone pad to make a phone call, after 10 secs of time of switching to the phone pad, Keep Alive will automatically bring the highest priority (in this case, Windows Media) back to the front. This is also beneficial when utilizing a GPS type application on the device and now does not have to worry about switching back to the application using a keystroke combination, it is done automatically.
Usage: Check ONE value, either, 5 secs, 10 secs, 15 secs, 20 secs, 30 secs or 60 secs.
Today Schedule
This option is a shortcut to the actual feature in <Advanced Settings>, discussed there.
Memory Status
This option allows the user to view the current memory usage of Smart Phone via a pop up dialog box.
Turn off Keep Alive when battery charge less than
This feature will allow the user to select a priority override of when Keep Alive should completely shut it self off, without affecting the overall setup of Smart Mode and Today Page options. The user can select a % of battery life remaining in increments of 5 (starting at 10% - 40%) that Keep Alive will totally disable itself.
Turn on Keep Alive when battery charge more than
This feature will allow the use to select a priority override of when Keep Alive should enable itself, without affecting the overall setup of Smart Mode and Today Page options. The user can select a % of battery life that this will be enabled for in increments of 5 (starting at 60% - 90%).
Today Schedule
This feature allows more granularity and security when using the Today Page feature to <disable> the PIN Code that is enforced via the Exchange Server. The user can specify which days of the week that this option is enabled (enabled means that NO password timeout/lock will occur) as well as what hour/minute this feature should be <enabled> and <disabled> automatically.
NOTE: Both <Turn on> and <Turn off> times are in 24 hour format.
SD Card Support
Keep Alive supports installation and operation/execution from a Storage Card. Also, it can launch itself automatically after a soft reset from a Storage Card.
Multi-Screen Support
Keep Alive supports all Windows Mobile 5 Smart phone screen dimensions such as regular resolution (176 x 220), QVGA resolution (240 x 320) and other resolution (320 x 240) screen.
