E-Mail Conduit Update - This update is intended for current Palm Desktop 3.x software users who have experienced problems with HotSync synchronization with e-mail.
This update corrects three types of problems that affect certain users:
When synchronizing with an enterprise-class mail system (such as Microsoft Exchange), the performance of the conduit has been improved.
In addition, the impact on server utilization has been significantly lowered.
In certain situations, the HotSync process will fail while trying to synchronize e-mail messages with a very large number of recipients.
The exact number of e-mail recipients that would trigger the problem depends on the mail system being used.
This update solves the problem by truncating the e-mail distribution list in these cases, thus ensuring that synchronization will occur correctly.
When synchronizing with a Lotus ccMail system, problems can occur when the ccMail database size grows beyond 2 GB.
