Localize is a simple application that let you switch easily between multiple locales on your PalmOS device.
This is most useful for users of European devices which include a multilingual ROM (English / French / Italian / German / Spanish for Palm brand devices, English / French / German for Sony brand devices...).
The default Language Picker application included in the ROM can only be used after a Hard Reset (=> complete loss of data), whereas Localize only performs a Soft Reset and keeps your data intact.
For those that do not have a multilingual ROM, this program can still be used but you'll need to install in RAM or ROM the required overlay files for your language before using Localize.
Version 0.1 is the initial release, it targets primarily Sony devices (English French German), though it will work on Palm EFIGS devices (but without Italian or Spanish ability).
The user interface is... well... very simple. There's not much checks either for the installed locales (except minimum system checks) so beware if you're playing with a non multilingual ROM.
Features planned in the future:
- Only show the locales which are actually available
- Support any number of installed locales
- Perform checks to see if all the installed applications (built-in + third party) can be properly run under the new requested locale
- Give informations about the installed locales
