HAM Profile for HanDBase - I put together a database using HanDBase to keep track of people that I talk to on the air. This database only includes one record as an example. My friends asked me not to send it out with there personal information. So each user will have to feed it with there information to make it a useful tool.
This database is not a logging program. It is intended to collect information about the HAMs that you know. You just record the call sign and name of a HAM that you meet. Later I use QRZ to look up the call sign to validate that it matches the name. From QRZ I copy the address and license past it into the database using the PC version of HanDBase. I then go down the list of interest and check the boxes that apply. This way the next time I hear the person on the air. Or reconise the voice but did not hear there call sign. I know what there interest are. This also help me remember call signs by common interests. On the Palm the First field is a check box. I use this to mark names that I want shown. (Use filter to show all or only checked records) Second field is the Call sign. (Database is normally sorted by call sign) Third field is for Name. Forth field is T for talked check this box if you have talked on the air to this HAM. Fifth field is V for viewed check this box if you have met this HAM. By clicking on the line you bring up the rest of the records. Class of license Where they work Address Comment The rest are check boxes to keep track of common interests I do not record every HAM in town, just the ones that I want to remember. A friend of a friend, coworkers, key people in local clubs, etc.
