Astro Compass (Palm OS) - The program allows to use the Palm like a real Compass.
Put yourself in front to any celestial object of solar system (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) or 28 bright stars (Sirius, Vega and so on): the program calculates its position on heavenly vault and then it will display a Compass. You will be able to find any correct geographical direction: North, East, South, West.
Moreover the program gives:
a) topocentric coordinates (Azimuth and Altitude);
b)equatorial coordinates (Right Ascension and Declination);
c) times of rise, transit and set of the celestial object (for the Moon, when the event occur the next day, it will be displayed '****').
Near the object name you can see the Azimuth and Altitude values (or Right Ascension and Declination).
On the right the program shows the altitude of the object respect on the horizon and Local Sidereal Time.
It is possible to store geographical coordinates.
Also it is possible to obtain the dates of the Equinoxes and Solstices for any year from 1000 up to 3000 (see the role of the Precession of the equinoxes!)
Earth's Surface function
It is possible to calculate the distance between two points on the Earth's surface. Moreover the program allows to know other geographical information about the parallel of any latitude: distance from Earth's center, the radius of the parallel, the length of one degree of longitude and latitude, the linear velocity, the radius of curvature of the Earth's meridian at any latitude.
Astronomical Almanac option gives the dates of the most important astronomical phenomena: more than 80 astronomical events for every year from 2000 up to 2030
Your shadow
This function calculates the direction and the length of your shadow at any time (if the Sun is above the horizon); moreover it displays the time when the shadow points North and the times when it is equal to your height.
Geo sites
This gives the geographical coordinates of 388 towns in the world. Once it is running, the user can choose, add (maximum 400) or modify the sites: the program will automatically send the corresponding coordinates to the Astro Compass program.
Astronomical Almanac option gives the dates of the most important astronomical phenomena: more than 80 astronomical events for every year from 2000 up to 2030.
GPS The program allows to receive and to display data from GPS unit connected to Palm serial port. Please, read GPS.rtf file for detail.
Registration: Full version needs HotSyncName.
Yes, it works in Palm OS 5 environment
GPS function does not have been tested with ALL GPS but it works with the main equipments
Supported operating systems:
Palm OS 3.x, Palm OS 4.x, Palm OS 5.x

Daily Astro Data (Palm OS) Daily Astro Data (Palm OS) - Jim Edwards had an annual ritual. Every year he would read magazine articles about the up-coming Orionids meteor shower. The trouble was, he always seem to read about them after-the-fact! Jim consistently missed one of nature`s finest celestial displays!
Jim is not alone
Mondphase Mondphase - German translation of Moon Phase.
This application will graphically display the phase of the Moon for any day.
This version is corrected to work with any version of the PalmPilot, to my knowledge.
The older pilots won't have the full functionality, however
Sun & Moon Sun & Moon is a bundle of two general purpose astronomy applications, Sol! II & Moon Info! While both are extremely valuable tools for astronomers, they are also well suited for everyday use
Star Pilot Plus Star Pilot Plus is a bundle of MEW3's and our products designed for backyard astronomers. It includes the following:
Star Pilot - The most full featured program on the market for the Palm Computing Platform. Star Pilot has a database of almost 1500 stars and 88 constellations as well as the ability to plot the position of planets, the sun, and the moon in the sky
TeleCalc TeleCalc calculates various Telescope optical design values, also has a glossary of terms
Messier! Messier! is a complete Messier object observing program
PocketSat+ (Palm OS) PocketSat+ (Palm OS) is a full-featured satellite tracking application for PalmOS devices. It is designed to be usable by both experienced satellite trackers as well as novices who are interested in knowing when they can simply look up and see satellites
P-Moontool P-Moontool - Shows the current phase of the Moon.
The accuracy depends on the Time Zone you are in.
Make sure you set it correct.
The grayscale modes are available only on PalmOS 3.5 or above.
Shows the dates for the 4 phases of the Moon (next event is underlined.) taping on a date brings up a dialog showing the time as well you can jump to any date you choose
pSatellite pSatellite is a satellite tracking application for the Palm OS environment. It provides visualization of satellite orbit position on a world map (Mercator projection) from any ground location you enter within pS
Solar and Lunar Eclipses Solar and Lunar Eclipses - Solar Eclipses
Total-annular solar eclipses processed by the program are comprised between 1900 and 2100 (exactly 287 eclipses from May 28th, 1900 to September 4th, 2100).
The program gives the times of the phases (initial, central and final) and the geographical coordinates where it is possible to observe those circumstances of the eclipse
Sundials Sundials - This program allows to build a sundial; it gives all necessary data to draw hour lines, solstices lines, equinoxes line and analemna line
Planet 2000 Planet 2000 - The program Planet 2000 allows to calculate the position of the solar system bodies, from Mercury up to Saturn. It also calculates the Sun and the Moon position. The program gives the celestial coordinates (Right ascension and Declination) and the coordinates of the celestial body respect on the observer (topocentric coordinates Azimuth and Altitude)
