Pre-Op Eval - This Palm PDA application is, to my knowledge, the first implementation of the new 2007 ACC/AHA pre-operative evaluation algorithm.
It is based upon the American College of Cardiology & American Heart Assoc. guideline on this topic from Sept '07. I started out writing a point of care PDA tool to assist a physician or resident by making the pre-op cardiac evaluation algorithm handy.
I soon decided that additional topics would be helpful. So I added materials from the ACC guideline along with ICSI and ACCP guidance on the topics of Perioperative Medical Therapies (i.e. periop beta blockers, etc.), Non-cardiac Testing appropriate in a presurgical evaluation (i.e. EKG, CXR, CBC, etc.), and the recommended time before surgery for patients with recent cardiac event or intervention.
