Noterrific is an application that keeps, structures and manages notes.
It is really very well designed, with most of the options one might wish for: a small check box in case you want to use the program for tasks, the ability to name notes using the current date and time, icons to facilitate viewing, etc. By default, the screen is separated into two parts, so you can see the start of the note text while navigating along the directory tree. You can, however, view either one (the directory tree or the contents) in full-screen mode with one click.
In case you make a mistake when placing a note in the hierarchy, there's a little "raise" or "lower" button, used to modify a note's level
