Poynt is an award-winning, free local search application that lets you find businesses, movies, retailers, restaurants, gas prices, weather information and people near you, then gives you the tools to connect with them – whether placing a call, viewing a website, getting directions, buying movie tickets or booking a dinner reservation. Integration with contacts, maps, phone, GPS, compass and accelerometer makes Poynt a seamless experience when discovering the area around you.
Poynt is free and available in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Spain and Germany.
· GPS: quickly find and deliver information on nearby businesses, restaurants, movies and people, whenever and wherever you need it
· Businesses: Search for any business, retailer or service using keywords, category or business names; Save favourite searches
· People: Search by name or reverse look up by number or address
· Movies: Watch trailers, see showtimes and buy movie tickets. Search by proximity, top 10, genre or title; save favourite theatres; see Rotten Tomatoes ratings
· Restaurants: Find restaurants by name, cuisine type or proximity, read reviews and reserve a table (table reservations only available in Canada & U.S.)
· Gas Prices: find nearby gas stations or find the best price by grade (US only)
· Weather: Fully integrated homescreen weather display changes based on the conditions around you, get 5-day forecasts and beyond
· Poynt 360 Augmented Reality: display search results as clickable tags over a live view of the surrounding environment. (iPhone 3GS & 4 only)
