J2MEPlateRecog We introduce a J2ME software package for recognizing images of vehicle license plates captured by mobile phone. The application consists of two main parts: First we analysis the plate characters and then extract all possible charaters via Horizontal segmentation and Vertical segmentation. The second step is match those extracted digits with the training set digit and find the best match. In this release, we only handle digits recognition. This application requires that your mobile phone support CLDC 1.1 and the captured image must contains only the digit plate number. If it fails to detect the digits, you have a second chance to upload to our web server and let our server try to detect for you.
