The Fu Manchu Collection - His works include thrillers, horror, mystery and detective novels, but his greatest creation is undoubtedly the evil genius, Dr. Fu-Manchu. All of Sax Rohmer's works contain three core elements that account for their continuing ability to fascinate: "the notion of conspiracy which is based upon a corporate, international secret society, ... the notion of a parallel supernatural plane of existence and the notion of eternal recurrence [reincarnation]." Now, you can read 15 of Sax Rohmer's most famous novels in The Fu Manchu Collection.

The Fu Manchu Collection includes:

• Bat Wing • The Hand of Fu-Manchu
• Brood of the Witch-Queen • The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu
• Dope • The Mysterious Mummy
• Fire-Tongue • The Quest of the Sacred Slipper
• Tales of Chinatown • The Return of Dr. Fu-Manchu
• The Devil Doctor • The Sins of Severac Bablon
• The Golden Scorpion • The Yellow Claw
• The Green Eyes of Bast

"Out of fire I came-the smoldering fire of a thing one day
to be a consuming flame; in fire I go. Seek not my ashes.
I am the lord of the fires! Farewell."
Fu-Manchu
The Mystery of Dr. Fu-Manchu

Sax Rohmer, whose real name was Arthur Ward, was born in 1883 in Birmingham England, and adopted the pen name "Sax" from the Saxon word for "blade" and "Rohmer" from "roamer". While he received little formal education, Rohmer had a life-long interest in Egyptology and the occult. After emigrating to the United States, Rohmer died in White Plains, New York in 1959.

Did You Know? Rohmer was a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn whose members also included Aleister Crowley and William Butler Yeats.
