Alter Fuel allows users of alternative energy propulsion to drive without fearing how to find the nearest filling station. We give them access to a comprehensive database of stations offering alternative energy fuel, where they can quickly and easily find the most optimal location for filling their vehicle.
Currently the application contains about 15,000 autogas pumps from across Europe, where some countries are very well covered. With the rapidly growing charging stations for electrical vehicles, the database will quickly fill with those stations too.
Alter Fuels value over other competing products is its ease of use, an enormous amount already mentioned pumps, use of data roaming with minimum cost and an easy way to add new stations into the database.
For a better user experience we wanted to give users two basic services: a user-friendly and easy to use pump finder and advanced route planning with properly planned stops at filling stations along the way. We used the guidelines for developing WP7 applications with a touch of minimalism and allowed enough room for advertising for providers of alternative energy propulsion.
With the help of Bing routing and Geocode services the application shows the planned route with stations along the way where the user can fill their vehicle. Based on the location it also calculates the distance to the nearest 10 filling stations.
AlterFuel is an application that can be used by all drivers of vehicles with alternative propulsion energy. Vehicles with autogas and electricity are becoming increasingly popular around the globe. Due to continued growth in awareness the number of vehicles with alternative energy is increasing and with it the demand for an application that was developed in order to more closely meet Phone Windows 7 development environment.
