Internet Time is a concept invented by the Swatch corporation in 1998. Each day is divided into 1000 .beats beginning at midnight, starting at @000 .beats. Each .beat lasts exactly 86.4 seconds.
The Internet time is the same all around the world.
During the height of the launch, it was found in Swatch watches, websites (such as CNN.com), software (such as ICQ), games and mobile phones.
