SimpleDial - This program allows you to produce dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) sequences on your cell phone's speaker and thereby dial a number on a normal land line telephone. Great for those that don't want the radiation of their cell phone near their head or that can save money this way.
When you install the program it will ask for permission to read your cell phone's contact lists. This will be only needed once, or when you added contacts or changed your phone book.
You can then select a contact by scrolling or filtering by a prefix that you can enter. A history of numbers you have called previously is displayed at the top.
When you click 'Dial' it will produce a DTMF sequence. When you place your cell phone close to the microphone of a land line phone that you just picked up (you should hear the 'proceed-to-dial tone') and play the DTMF sequence your land line phone should get connected to the number that you have chosen. Please note that this can only work on an analog telephone (no ISDN).
An earlier version of this program was known as 'FastCall' but it was renamed to 'SimpleDial' to make it clearer that an additional phone is needed.
