PPM Calculator for HanDBase is a database that calculates the amount of chemical necessary to maintain a desired level in Parts Per Million in an irrigation system of a vineyard or orchard. The user enters the field data, number of drip emitters per vine, the gallons per hour of the drip emitters, the type of chemical, percent concentration, the target PPM level and the number of hours to maintain the target level PPM. The database then calculates the total amount of chemical required and the injection rate in gallons per hour and gallons per minute.
I found this calculator to be especially useful when determining the amount of liquid chlorine to inject into an irrigation system to combat algae which can severly plug emitters. The data from each calculation is stored in a table allowing easy reference.
