Motivation - three good reasons for using pixafe mobile:
The displays of digital cameras are small. You would like to view your images in a higher resolution and sort out the ones that don''t meet your standard. With pixafe mobile, you can view all your images - either separately or on the light box. The magnifying glass shows every detail.
Large memory cards lead to images being archived a long time after being shot. In the meantime, you might have forgotten important details. Pixafe mobile makes it possible to add notes or spoken comments directly after your shooting or trip. You can use this to store vital information, such as who/what is on the image, where it was taken, keywords, categories, descriptions or author. Master data can be added via XML-file directly into pixafe mobile, so that you do not have to enter everything manually. For captioning, simply select people, locations etc via intelligent lists. If you are using the pixafe image database for archiving, you can adopt the terms used for keywords, locations, etc automatically.
The labelled images are taken over by the archiving system automatically: PAI-Autoinsert files are generated for pixafe, for all other systems XML-files containing the captions in a machine readable format are available. These exports can be used to as imports for any other archiving systems or to fill any personal solution with Excel etc.
Easy installation, even easier use
Simply insert your camera's memory card into your PDA and start pixafe mobile. Then, all images from the selected image directory - including all subdirectories - are displayed. These can then be viewed individually, or with the help of a light box, and can be deleted if necessary.
If you would like to make a note to an image, simply click on the labelling tab: Here, you enter all necessary information concerning people, locations, keywords, etc, or you simply record a spoken note. This data is automatically saved when you switch to the next image, and automatically loaded when you display that image again. Especially useful: Just as with it's big brother, the pixafe image database, multiple images can be marked to label them all at once.
Pixafe mobile reads the EXIF-data of the images and displays this. In this way, you have all the important information on the image in one clock: date and time of the shot, aperture, camera brand and model, focus, GPS coordinates, ? this data is also used to rotate the preview images the right way up - without any manual input. If your camera does not provide this information, you can also rotate the preview images manually.
The original images on the memory card are never modified; only the automatically generated preview images are rotated. Pixafe mobile is intuitively usable, due to its modern icons and the extensive online help.
