Memory-Map Navigator - Use your Phone with GPS for Hiking, Biking, Hunting, Fishing, 4x4, Boating, Kayaking, Geocaching, and many other outdoor activities.
Are you using your phone with a GPS in the car, with turn-by-turn directions to your destination? We love these street navigation packages, too, but what if you want to find your way off the road network? That is where you need Memory-Map Navigator!
Memory-Map Navigator allows you to load richly detailed topographic maps, marine charts (or aviation charts) into the Smartphone, and use them for navigating with a GPS. A very wide range of maps and charts is supported, including freely downloadable USGS topo maps, and you can even scan and calibrate your own maps. As you move, map scrolls automatically to show your position on the screen.
Five Essential Tools to Enhance your Journey:
Plan Routes: See distances, compass bearings, elevation profile and estimated journey time.
Print Maps: Create personalized maps with your own overlay data.
Program GPS: Make full use of a Garmin or Magellan handheld GPS with easy route programming.
Plot GPS: See your position accurately displayed on a richly detailed moving map.
Performance review: Analyze your tracklog to see where you have been, with time, speed and distance travelled.
A powerful desktop Windows application is included that allows you to view and print the maps, plan your routes, and review your performance on a large screen. On the phone, your position is plotted on the screen, and you can navigate with waypoints.
Features:
"QuickChart" technology: High performance image manipulation algorithms let you move the map across the screen, by simply clicking and dragging. Scrolling and zooming is instantaneous, even on a Pocket PC.
Seamless Mapping: Merge adjacent or overlapping topo maps or charts to eliminate the map edges.
Real maps: The maps and charts are detailed color digital images of the user’'''s familiar paper maps and charts. See roads, rivers, contour lines, heights, depths, landmarks, navigational aids.
Full GPS interface: Your real-time position displayed on-screen on your phone, showing your direction of travel. The map scrolls automatically as you move.
Print custom maps (from PC): Add your own routes and waypoints to a map then print it in high-resolution full color. Relief shading and grid overlay are print options.
Supports a range of map formats: On land, at sea or even in the air, a wide choice of charts and maps are available including: Maptech, NDI, Softchart, Geotiff (charts, topos, navphotos and aeronautical charts), USGS quads and even satellite images.
Continuous scroll mode: Quick, convenient scrolling with laptop pointing devices.
Velocity vector: Provides a quick visual check of where you’'''ll be if you continue the current course and speed for a given time. Enables you to quickly assess whether your current course could lead to a potential hazard.
Auto Chart Select: Automatically selects the best map for a given GPS position.
Lock on to GPS: Automatically selects the most appropriate map, then as you move, keeps your current position in the center of the screen whilst the map scrolls. Provides a constant view of your current position and surrounding area.
Alternate Chart Views: Enables you to have two alternate views of the same chart at different locations and/or zoom levels. Useful for a high level and detailed view of your current position or to toggle between start and end points of a route.
Satellite Status: Shows number of satellites, fix type and HDOP.
Lat/Long and UTM Grid: Supports several coordinate systems including UTM, British National Grid.
