Using the integrated suite of GoKnow! software tools, teachers and students cover the full range of the K-12 curriculum.

Using the MLE through MyProjects, Palm OS users can create multiform projects made up of resources from the multitude of available GoKnow! software tools. For example, from a single screen the user can quickly navigate between a Sketchy animation, a FreeWrite word processing document, or even Web pages with rich research content in FlingIt.
The GoKnow! Software Tools shown below are included with every MLE for Palm OS license:
Students working on a project in the GoKnow! MLE use MyProjects on their mobile devices to access their project home page. MyProjects enables students to organize multiple resources on one simple screen and encourages students to use a variety of different learning tools - concept maps, animations, tables, paragraphs, slideshows and web resources - to build complex, multiform projects.
PiCoMap allows students to create, share, and explore concept maps on their handheld computer. This program allows users to create multiple nodes and relationships leading to elaborate concept maps for brainstorming, visual outlining or assessment purposes. PiCoMaps can also be beamed to other students and the teacher.
Sketchy is an animation/drawing tool featuring many pen options, geometric objects, up to 999 frames, and an easy-to-use interface. Helpful features such as duplicate, insert and delete allow quick and clean animation creation.
FreeWrite is a complete word processing program. In addition to the basic word processor features, advanced features such as auto-capitalization, spell checking, and revision help make writing easier for any user. Students can also use the infrared capabilities of the Palm OS handheld to peer-edit documents with others.
Cells is a versatile spreadsheet program. Perfect for any data collection, whether it be in the laboratory, by the stream, or at a gymnastics meet, Cells offers everyday functions such as average, minimum, maximum, and sum, and a simple interface.
iKWL is an exercise that guides students through new material. First, students brainstorm a list of words about their subject; they then use these words to construct a list of what they know. Next, they ask and document questions they would like to find out about their subject. After researching their subject to answer these questions, they record the answers into iKnow portion of their project. Work is automatically saved, and can be a very helpful resource for quizzes or tests.
Locker allows students to enter detailed information about assignments and upcoming events. They can also write notes for themselves or others. Assignments, events and notes may be beamed so that all students can have the exact assignment and expectations every day, for every class. Once a grade for a particular assignment has been received, it can be entered into Locker as well.
ViewPoint is a presentation program that enables students to create slide shows on their Palm handheld computers. Students are able to create, delete, and modify slides, and then, with the appropriate hardware, present their work using an overhead projector, a digital display, or a television. ViewPoint provides the capability to create and present simple text presentations without the dependency of a desktop PC or other third-party software.
FlingIt allows users to instantaneously "fling" Web pages from the desktop computer to the handheld computer. Students can decide whether or not to include graphics and determine the link depth of the captured Web pages. Students can then view Web-based content at home, on the bus, or in their seats. FlingIt sites can also be beamed from one handheld computer to another for the sharing of Web-based resources.
