You will be able to control the brightness completely: ability to turn backlight off, or set it lower than the system usually allows (good for Zire71, as its lowest possible system-set brightness is too bright for night use). Also lets you control the sound volumes (system, alarm, game). This program also shows the current date and time, and the free memory on the palm, and on the expansion card.
