E-Mail Conduit Update E-Mail Conduit Update - This update is intended for current Palm Desktop 3.x software users who have experienced problems with HotSync synchronization with e-mail.
This update corrects three types of problems that affect certain users:
When synchronizing with an enterprise-class mail system (such as Microsoft Exchange), the performance of the conduit has been improved
CustomSync CustomSync - We can customize the HotSync settings inside HotSync Manager. But it is not convenient to customize more synchronization settings, especially for more than one user profile.
In HotSync Manager, we need to right click the HotSync Icon, click the "Custom" menu item, then invoke many dialog boxes to change the HotSync settings
PicoSync PicoSync utilizes Network Hotsync to allow the user to wirelessly synchronize data with a remote computer.
It connects to the network by first searching for the least loaded PicoBlue Access Point in your office, then automatically connecting - with just one touch.
Now you can keep synchronized anywhere you've got Bluetooth network coverage in the office
SyncAll SyncAll - Most people think the HotSync will save the whole data contained on the Palm and this is enough to restore it after a power failure or other cause for data loss.
But the normal HotSync only saves the databases (all data/app is is internaly stored in databases) that has the so called "backup-bit" set
SyncNow SyncNow - Why take double the effort when it can be done with half? Currently, you will need to launch the HotSync app and then tap on the big icon button in the center of the screen to start the hotsync process. And after hotsync is done, you would need to tap Home to return to your launcher. Altogether, you need 3 pen taps
Syncer Syncer initiates a hotsync automatically each day at a specified time.
A different time can be specified for each day of the week.
All of the times can be set to the same value by using the "SET ALL" button on the right edge of the screen.
Syncer can be temporarily disabled by un-checking the checkbox
