PowerAMP is enjoying an enviable position--this week they will surpass two million Android trial version installs, and since December, they have been the number one multimedia app, while maintaining a respectable top three spot in all non-game apps.
While Android/Google has announced an improved music player for their 3.0 version of the OS, rumors indicate that with the exception of music download capabilities, PowerAMP will remain the more feature-rich of the two apps.
PowerAMP’s developers are confident that today’s release of the feature-rich PowerAMP Version 1.1 ($4.99, http://powerampapp.com/ <http://powerampapp.com/> ) will ensure their five-out-of-five rating for the previous versions remains untarnished. PowerAMP’s powerful but easy-to-navigate interface (see screenshots here: http://tinyurl.com/poweramp-screenshots) and built-in dynamic equalizers cater to sound quality fanatics.
Version 1.1 features will include the following enhancements:
--Audio-focus Android 2.2 API support; PowerAMP now pauses itself if voice search is in progress
--Dynamic play queue: both Folder and Library files can be enqueued and PowerAMP will return back to the previously played list when queue is complete
--Custom equalizer presets: any equalizer preset now can be assigned to the specific song or to one of the outputs whether speaker, wired headset or Bluetooth® headset
--Better MP4/WMAv1-v2/OGG support on devices without NEON (like HTC Hero/Wildfire)

--Added FLAC 24bit/96khz support

--New DELete DUPlicates action for playlists
--Hierarchical Folders view: where Flat/Hierarchy can be switched in Folders
